Upon Waking
Didn’t sleep in much this Sunday, but I’ll take whatever I can get! I found time to do a little reading before le bae woke up.
Churchin’
Oh Lawd, did this sermon resonate with me. We are in the gospel of Matthew and Nicole Dawes from DC Metro preached on worldly goods and our attachment to them. Basically reminding us that obsessing over, hoarding, desiring earthly goods is essentially honoring false idols. Promptly got my phone out (after service, though I was tempted) and canceled two internet orders. So there, actionable! I desire to desire less. A challenge, to be sure.
Lunchin’
Back to H-mart to meet a friend for lunch, but by that time bae was acting up BIG time. The cafeteria broke bad on me, and my lunch was so-so. I left kind of hungry, which I hate. The ride home wasn’t fun for anyone, but at least the bae went down for her nap.
Relaxin’
Went down for the nap, but woke up 15 min later . . . oy. No resting this Sunday, as the non-napped toddler continued her downward spiral of cranktankiness.
End of Days
After back-to-back time outs, the hubs was able to bring the bae to homeostasis through a combination of dinner, play and bathtime. Good thing, because mom officially clocked out. I. Was. Over. It. After she went to bed, we had a nice seafood feast. Good food always puts me in a fab mood.
Hi/Low
I should have had more patience with the bae but failed miserably. I do find strength in admitting defeat. During a particularly trying moment, I let my husband know I was taking the dog for a walk and he would need to “deal with his child.” So that happened. A low moment which I think ended on a high note because I got out of the house and cleared my head. Little breaks are a thing! Who knew?
