Upon Waking
FINALLY slept in; cue cheers and balloons falling from the ceiling. Adjusting to the time change has been shockingly hard, but I turned a corner this Sunday. Bae woke up happy, so it was a winning type morning.
Churchin’
Paster Charlie from DC Metro preached on God’s promises. Basically, he’s the only one that keeps them. It’s less about listening to what the world says is possible, and more hearing the quiet voice of telling you where to walk; and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you. We’ve all been through valleys in life, and rejecting the “wisdom” of the world feels SO difficult during these times. Especially when those messages come from people we love. But God comes first. A good message, on the spot again Pastor Charlie!
Lunchin’
A random family lunch happened at Nak Won in Annandale. A decent offering of Korean goodies. I got the seafood soup, as I am always in the mood for two things: 1. seafood and 2. noodles. A good time was had by all. Isn’t it fun when family stuff happens and no one fights? Maybe it’s because we haven’t done this in awhile. In any event, all good vibes.
Relaxin’
Everyone napped, and I mean everyone because, read: Korean BBQ. Then we took a nice long walk as a family and saw my parents who were in town. They got grandbaby time in, I got to sit on the couch without having to: a. catch someone from falling b. read to someone c. wonder why the room got quiet i.e. what disaster was occurring under my nose d. getting someone a snack. WINS.
End of Days
No cooking for me, which always makes me HAPPY on the sabbath and so much chiller in general. It’s a thing, let me tell you.
Hi/Low
All highs. But church taught me a good lesson, we never learn from the good days. Who needs em? Give me the good, the bad AND the ugly, and let me be smart enough to value each and every moment just as it is.
