Upon Waking
Slept wayyy in. The kind of in where you have no idea where you are. In getting this much rest, I’m reminded of what I looked like before kids. Both good and bad, I guess.
Churchin’
Pastor Charlie preached on being in high places by God’s hand–David being a trusted advisor to Pharoh, etc. Such a good message, especially when dealing with workplace politics for sure. I’m reminded God has me RIGHT where he wants me.
Lunchin’
We ate some SERIOUS Korean food at Eden Center in Arlington. If you’ve never been, everyone apparently goes on Sunday. Like the whole population of Northern Virginia. It took forever to find a parking spot, and then add twenty minutes to find my friend (we’d never been there before). I was uber cranky (I don’t do well hungry) and sniped a few times at the bae. Not a good start. Plus side, the food was amazing.
Relaxin’
Bae took a nice long nap. Since I was full up on sleep, I did the wifely thing and cut my husband’s hair. Whenever you think your marriage is solid, try doing this.
End of Days
I got takeout for dinner and MAN did that work out well. I may make this a 100% thing around my house. No cooking Sundays. Ever.
Hi/Low
More sniping at the baby and my husband, not my finest moment. But I’m getting better at apologizing, forgiving myself and moving on. When times are stressful I notice all my usual defenses go out the window. The lesson is to (to the extent I can) make sure I’m resting, fed, etc. before popping off. Small things, instead of pushing through to do x, y, z maybe take a moment to rest. Now there’s a lesson that’s perfect for the Sabbath.
