Upon Waking
Daylight savings time, ya’ll! Oh wait, it’s the bad one. Where you LOSE an hour to scrolling through Netflix and never see that hour again. Given I slept in slightly, I had to hustle to make it to . . .
Churchin’
Paster Charlie from DC Metro preached on the Joshua tale about the walls of Jericho. Idea is this: spiritual routine; miracles happen but it’s our faith and works that factor into that equation. Sometimes it feels like nothing is “happening” when we go through the routines in our lives, but that discipline is important to learn and re-learn God’s plan for us. Powerful stuff. I set my alarm back 10 minutes to give myself time to pray. Thank you Pastor Charlie! I love it when I come out with a fresh take on the world.
Lunchin’
We stayed in, and the bae rejected almost every lunch option save ice cream. “It’s once a week,” I tell myself. But internally, I feel like a failure. Plus, it’s so sad throwing away perfect-looking food.
Relaxin’
Everyone napped. Which helped deal with both the time change and the cold that’s been nagging all of us (both in sickness and in the weather) these past few days.
End of Days
We cooked a feast on Saturday, which allowed us a leisurely Sunday dinner time. So much of the Sabbath is reminding myself NOT to do more. By loading all my activities on Saturday, I can actually relax on Sunday and enjoy myself. I’m less snappy and I find my Mondays start off much easier. So much better than before, but man is it difficult NOT throwing that load of laundry in.
Hi/Low
Church was most certainly the high. The low was getting bae to bed a full hour before she was used to. It took some tag teaming with the hubs, but we eventually got it done. I, by contrast, didn’t need an enticement to go to bed early. It didn’t even matter that it was still light outside 😉
